McConnell Golf finalized its acquisition of The Country Club of Asheville, giving the company a new westernmost property.
Financial terms of the acquisition were not released, though John McConnell, founder and CEO of the company, committed to investing $4 million in improvements, including to both the clubhouse and the course.
The Asheville course gives McConnell its first mountain course and becomes the 11th course under the McConnell name. Members of any McConnell course may play any of the other courses as well, and McConnell has said he wanted to add a course out west so members from Raleigh would have an option if they vacationed to the mountains.
